The Crucifix was completed in 1966. The project was drawn according to my personal interpretation of the Portuguese style “Dom Jose I” (Baroque/Rococo styles). It was carved in jacaranda-tan (Machaerium villosum) and in caviuna negra (Dalbergia violacea) salvaged from a demolition. The blood drops are represented by little agate stones. The finishing was done with wax. Only hand tools were used except for the rough preparation of the wood.

Dimensions of the cross: 29” high x 15” wide x 1/2” thick
